Have you finished wearing your custom press-ons or do you want to reuse them? Follow our guide on how to remove your nails!
1 - Removal
Step 1: Use a large bowl and fill with the warmest tolerable temperature of water, cuticle oil (or coconut, olive or baby oil) & dish soap.
Step 2: Place your hands in the soapy solution for 20 minutes. Wriggle your fingers around every few minutes to help loosen the nails.
Step 3: After 20 minutes, use your wooden cuticle stick or floss stick to seperate the press on from your nails. Start gently around the cuticle area and around the sides while they are in the water solution.
Step 4: Repeat the process again if your nails are struggling to come off. This is more commonly an issue with nail glue as it is used for long term wear.
If your nails are stuck on extremely well or you don’t intend to reuse them, you can use a mix of 50% water and 50% acetone to remove. However, because acetone is used, it may damage the designs on your press ons (especially charms and 3D elements).
Step 5: Use your buffer to remove any glue residue from your natural nails. You can use the same buffer or file to remove any glue from the press on.
For those who intend to reuse their press ons with glue, it is recommended to buy an inexpensive e-file with sanding band to easily remove the leftover glue. If you have used sticky tabs, you can use your cuticle pusher to scrape off the excess.
Step 6: Use your original container to repackage your nails for later use. (It is recommended to label them with ‘left’ and ‘right’ so you don’t confuse them with one another).
